The Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) is a membership-based trade union formed voluntarily by workers in 1987 as an independent legal person. Our membership is open to all workers in Government Ministries, Municipalities, Regional Councils, Parastatals, Semi-stated Institutions, and more.
Key Aims
To organize and unite workers according to their workplace and nature of work, assisting in establishing Workplace Committees to strive for welfare and justice.
Key Objectives
Promotion of unity, and Quality services delivery to members, ensuring financial sustainability, aimed at growth, development, operational effectiveness and Efficiency.
On the 30th March 2006, NAPWU signed a Collective Recognition and Procedural Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Namibia which binds all Government Ministries and Agencies, a testament to our mandate derived from Article 95 (c) of the Constitution of Namibia.
